Hi Bethany, Great post and awesome publishing resources. Thanks so much Could you share the name of your author friend who got published through Next Chapter. Just seeking some feedback as an author considering contract with them.
I do know that one downside of Next Chapter is they don’t do developmental edits. For me personally, that’s a no go. But my friend has been happy with communication with them. Her first two books released in November so it’s all fairly new but she had a lot of good to say last time we chatted.
I can give her your email if you’d like to DM it to me.
Great article! I love taking time to slow down and feel how big the world is and worship! Is it a possibility to get my publishing company on your list for accepting submissions from un-agented authors? I am also running an awards ceremony that just opened and closes on March 1st
Love the story about your daughter—Did you get to "try on" different names in the first week to see which one fit best? Thanks for the great list of resources. Wishing you an amazing year ahead!
Welllll it’s a bit of a story actually. My sister had a baby girl 2 months before we had ours and named her a name that has the same first two letters of the name we’d initially hoped to choose for our daughter. So when it came time to name our daughter, my sister said it bothered her that their names shared the first two letters. So I was scrambling to find a new name and nothing felt right so I kept delaying it. The hospital was on my case wanting to fill out paperwork. And then finally my sister called and was like, “This baby needs a name. Name her what you want.”

That's helpful feedback. Yes, I would appreciate the email address, if you don't mind sending me a DM. Thanks again, Bethany.

So I did 😂
Happy new year to you too!
The absolute nerve of your sister to have her baby first 😆 Glad it all worked out! 🥂🎉🎊🌟
One of the hardest things for me to do is slow down, but I’ve seen such benefits from it. I love how you phrased it all so well!
Thank you for reading it! Glad we are on this journey of pursuing presence together.
Here's to more sitting, and staring into the night sky with hope of spotting a shooting star. I sense the serenity already. 🙂
Here! Here!
